Tug toys are a great way for dogs to get exercise while playing, and bonding with their hooman.
Here is how we made a fleece rope tug toy.
Cut 4 pieces of fleece 2 inches wide by 48 inches long 
Tie the 4 pieces together on one end 
Spread the 4 pieces out as shown 
Fold the lower piece up and to the left, leaving a loop of about 3 inches. Fold the upper piece down and to the right, leaving the same sized loop 
Fold the right piece over the top of the piece going down, and thread it through the lower loop. Fold the left piece over top of the piece going up, and thread it through the upper loop 
Slowly tighten the knot by alternating between pulling the left and right pieces, and the upper and lower pieces, until the knot is snug 
The tightened knot should look like this 
When the weave of the toy is to the desired length, pull all of the remaining pieces down 
Tie the remaining pieces together 
Cut the excess down to 2 inches after the knot 
Cut each piece up the center about an inch and a half 
Your tug toy is done
